Herbal First Aid


Here's some herbs to have in your medicine cabinet.
WHITE WILLOW BARK has been used for hundreds of years to relieve pain. Use in a capsule form or tea.
GARLIC is a natural antibiotic. CAPSICUM (cayenne pepper) enhances the value of the garlic. Use together in combination to fight infections and the first sign of illness. This combination will also lower blood pressure.
ECHINACEA and GOLDEN SEAL. Use together for a strong formula to help build immune system and fight off colds, flu and infections.
PEPPERMINT is used for gas pains and digestive disturbances. This is in our Tummy Tonic tea . Check the catalog for information.
COMFREY - Use in a poultice for cuts, bruises and wound healing. A poultice is made by bringing water to a boil , and pouring over the dried herb. Let is cool and use the wet herb as a poultice. Put directly on the wound and cover with a bandage. Leave on overnight and change the next day. Keep repeating the procedure until healing taked place.
RESCUE REMEDY - Use for any crisis. This is a flower remedy to calm and relax an individual in crisis. Comes in liquid form or sometimes in a cream. Nature Sunshine calls it Distress Formula under homeopathic remedies.
ARNICA - Homeopathic remedy for torn muscle, and muscle soreness. This can be bought in a cream or tablet form. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR and ALOE GEL is used for sunburn.
TABLE SALT and VINEGAR for sore muscles. Equal amounts, mix together. Rub on with a washcloth. This is an Edgar Cayce remedy and it works great.
TEA TREE OIL for fungus and acne.
BLACK WALNUT in capsule in tincture form for those infected with parasites.Taken internally.
SHEPARDS PURSE for heavy menstrual bleeding. As a tea or capsule.Can also use as a douche for severe cases.
PLAINTAIN for poison ivy and bee stings. This grows everywhere and is easy to identify. Chew up leaf and put directly on bite. or mix a handful of fresh cut leaves and mix in a blender. Put directly on the skin. This was the only thing that worked for me when I got stung by a catapillar. You can also try honey for bee stings.
Don't be afraid to try any of these remedies. But seek medical advice when necessary.
