Ten Steps to Nurturing Your Spirit
1. Know your intention: Do you want to feel more of a connection to your spirit? Define what it is you want and set you visions high. Write them down and be very clear. Then turn your focus daily towards them. Begin to come to a place of knowing that you are spirit. See the miracles unfold however small they may be. Opportunities are always around us to guide us to the light. Recognize them.
2. Focus on the Light: The Light and Love of God and Your Spirit is within your heart. It’s not in the things you own, or the body you have. It rests in your heart, ready to open and be shared. Your heart is the home of your spirit. Through love you can use your mind to create the bridge between your thoughts and your knowledge of love.
3. Know that we ALL contain the God essence, therefore we are all connected. There is no seperation between God and ourselves. Expand your awareness to the whole picture. The main purpose as physical beings is to remember who we are. Then each individual can create their own unique purpose for being here. It's our choice. We have the power to create anything we desire. And if our intentions are high and focused on the heart- God will support us.
4. In order to find more peace, love and light we must let go of fear, judgement and self doubt. Where are my blockages? If it’s self doubt, then embrace that emotion and walk it to the light. Watch it melt away as you use your creative mind to replace it with self love. Use daily affirmations and meditations to support you on this journey.
5. Give yourself permission to feel joy, peace, love and happiness. Maybe no one has ever told you that you can. Believe it is well deserved and you’re worthy of the very best. And invite it into your heart.
6. Sacred Time: Spend time everyday to focus on your intention. Be still and quiet the mind. Create a small space or a room in your home that brings you peace as soon as you are there. Fill it with special items that are sacred and unique to you. Use the time and space to activate the process and carry the feeling with you all day and into the night. Keep it simple.
7. Practice: Controlling your thoughts is a key to finding your spirit. Worry, stress, fear, and criticism can get in the way and become a distraction. Negative thinking can become a habit. Put time aside, perhaps an hour a day when you will be more aware of your thoughts. Then expand the time to include a whole day, week and so on. Know that your thoughts are very powerful.
8. Invest in your relationships: We are here to help each other remember our spirit and to heal our hearts. We learn best about our spirit and ourselves through our relationships. A good way to practice opening your heart is by being with others and honoring their existence just as we honor our own.
9. Trust: Trust the universe, trust God and trust yourself. Know that everything is as it should be. Don’t become attached to outcomes or have a lot of expectations.
10. Lighten up and go with the flow. We are living this human existence because that is what we chose. And everything about our life is what we created. But this isn’t all there is. The more we fight circumstances and ourselves, the more we feel disconnected. Take the load of stress and worry off our backs by not fighting, and resisting the flow of life. Go with it, accept it. Find humor in it. Bring it to the light.
