Spiritual Weight Loss
Our thoughts are the creative force behind what we experience as human beings.Thoughts are powerful and become the grounds in which we operate as humans. So we think therefore we are. They become the cause and our experience becomes the effect. What we have accepted as our beliefs and feelings about ourselves become who we are. Our beliefs come from past experience that we have filled in our minds as negative or positive. The source of these belief systems are those we are closest to; our parents, grandparents, aunts , uncles , friends and teachers. The beliefs go into the filing system in our minds and we draw from them as we interact in the world and in our relationships. The negative baggage we carry can become a cause for our discomforts and disease. Beliefs like "I’m unworthy, inconfident, insecure, fearful and unsatisfied" can manifest into physical symptoms, even the physical weight we carry around. Physical weight we carry around can represent the protection we need from being hurt. Lousie Hay’s book “You Can Heal Your Life” explains this in detail. I believe that we have to look at our baggage before we take on the task of helping our weight loss, or healing a physical ailment. How can we support ourselves in the areas of our life that we wish to change? And we willing and able to make these changes? Or is the ailment supporting us or benefiting us in some way? Are we getting attention from being ill, maybe attention we never received as a child? What emotions come up?
Do we resist change? Are we feeling stuck? Are we afraid to face our fears? What are they and how do they manifest in our daily life? Emotion is energy in motion. They help us to know where we are on the path. They help to move the energy in the body. When we are moving the energy it can become stuck and cause pain or illness. That’s why it’s important to get Reiki or energy balancing treatments often.
One thing you can do to help you get in touch with your emotions is write them down as they come up. Allow the self to feel them deeply , then walk them to the light of the all loving and knowing consciousness. Accept them for what they are and don’t judge or criticize. Walk them to the light and ask for help. Allow the transformation to take place Use positive affirmations and begin to open your heart to self love and acceptance. Be ready to release them to the universe to be transformed. Focus on the spirit and love. Let the ego drop away, as it is fear based and creates a lot of unnecessary weight. Question your beliefs and ask if they still support you on the path. If not, begin to take that step to change them , one by one. Know that you are love and completely supported by the universal truths. These truths are the threads that weave through all religions and paths. Spiritual weight loss is work but well worth the journey.
